2012 Ford Focus Electric

Driving the 2012 Ford Focus Electric means you save the environment in more ways than one. The battery-powered car not only cuts down on emissions, but it also uses a recycled fiber called Repreve for the seat fabric. To cover just one Focus Electric seat takes about  22 16-ounce used plastic water bottles which, along with post-industrial waste, are the main components of Repreve, says manufacturer Unifi Inc. To further its sustainable efforts, the Greensboro, NC-based company has also started manufacturing a new Repreve fiber that uses recycled fabric in an effort to give textiles a second life.
