Alessi Piana MoMA

A round of applause for legendary Italian kitchen design manufacturer Alessi—the company’s first chair design, “Piana,” launched earlier this year at the International Salone del Mobile in Milan and has been picked up by the Museum of Modern Art for their permanent collection.

The folding polypropylene and glass fiber chair is the result of a collaboration between Lamm and renowned architect David Chipperfield. The chair is 100 percent recyclable and is available in several colors. It will be released in the United States in January 2012 and will be sold exclusively through Design Within Reach.
